The steak was perfectly cooked, the scallops were rich and flavorful, and even the escargot was spot on. But the best was the fried artichoke, super unique and absolutely delicious. The vibe is amazing, buzzing with energy but still comfortable and welcoming. Whether you’re there for a casual lunch or a nice dinner out, it just works. The staff are super attentive without being overbearing, and service runs like clockwork. Definitely one of the top spots I’ve eaten at in NYC.

Overall, 7/10 from me. Pancakes were delicious- nice and fluffy with a good portion size as well. Coffee bar was solid and service was great. Only issue we had was with the bacon - it was $12 and we only got 3 strips... Definitely would pass on that in the future. Prices outside of that are very reasonable!

- incredible experience. we sat on the patio in our own 4 person booth. we came for dinner on a thursday and waited about 15 mins to be seated. we had great service, met super interesting people and dined to the nines. we got a magnum of rose, the lobster ravioli, scallops, oysters, anchovies with french butter and bread, the fish, mac and cheese and fries. everything was amazing. we’ll be back. great atmosphere too.

Beautiful restaurant. The scallop crudo was good, the trout among the best ever, and the spaghetti pomodoro was excellent. The duck however was not fresh, had a funky smell and had to be returned. Service was strange but the absolute worst was the constant asking if we were done and if they could take our plates. One time they asked and we hadn’t even eaten half our food! The restaurant had lots of free tables not sure why they were pushing us out so hard. Anyway the manager was very nice about the duck.

Always a reliable go-to with lots of seating outdoors and inside. Easy to get a table and very friendly and fast service! Food is always great, particularly love the steak tartare, fried artichokes, and the fries. Also like the salads verte for freshness to balance the pate champagne. Nice bread and salty butter too.

Loved Pastis. Service was great, very accommodating. Had the steak frites and liked it, although the fries were a little too crispy. So if you like thinner, crispier type fries, these are the ones for you. Had a non alcoholic mojito that was made well but the highlight for me was the sticky toffee pudding. It came with vanilla ice cream and was delicious. I’d definitely recommend that. Overall, great place.

Ordered a Fumee du diable and a chicken paillard. The Fumee du Diable was a refreshing drink consisting of banhez mezcal, cassis, ginger, and lime. The citrus elements with the ginger give this drink a sharp tone. The Chicken Paillard was a beautiful plate with a bed of greens and sliced almonds. The chicken was well flattened and had some of the tartness of the picholine olives. It was easy to cut into and a good portion. There were also complimentary butter and bread which were a really nice side starter; the butter was very smooth and the bread was a light but firm consistency. The service was great, very courteous. Restroom situation is a bit unusual as its hidden away down two flights of stairs. Steady flow of guests throughout the evening so you may need a reservation but a walk-in may be fine on the weekdays.

We went to Pastis while on a family vacation in New York. It was fairly easy to get a reservation, the food and staff were excellent. Our favorite dishes on the menu were the fries and the steak. Also the steak tartare and escargot were amazing. The fish dish we had was OK. I would’ve rather gotten another steak dish instead. We ended up ordering several plates and splitting everything. This was one of my favorite meals we had while on vacation.
